Black Kettle Bistro is excited to announce its participation in Winter Bites. We are taking the culinary festival one step further and incorporating some of Windsor’s finest artistic talents to create not only a great culinary experience but a great taste of the Windsor arts & music scene. Each night we will be hosting a special guest artist or musician. It will be a special small and intimate atmosphere. You may not get a chance to see these artists is such a setting anywhere else. We will be offering a new and unique menu for the event. When you purchase the $25 menu $5 will automatically go to the artist and if you choose the $35 menu then $15 will go to the artist and you will receive a signed copy of their CD or a special limited addition print signed by the artist. Below is a list of the participating artists and musicians as well as the special menu being offered.

Happy 2010! I've made it full circle and this is my last post of Drink Coffee and Destroy! I successfully took a photo a day for an entire year!

I'm not going to be continuing into 2010, but I will be launching a new website very very soon, in the mean time, I'll still be uploading all of my photos to my flickr account, so you can keep up with them there!

I was going to hold off posting photos of my show at Phog, but it's kinda hard taking photos of bands when part of the display is RIGHT there!

Anyways, last night was the best night. Yellow Wood, Bulletproof Tiger and Kid Brother played at Phog, and the place was PACKED. Probably over capacity at some point, but everyone was so stoked and having the best time. It just felt good!

Kid Brother started things off right.

In the last two days (less actually), I spent 6 hours printing photos, 6 hours framing/hanging, finished a video project, recorded three hours worth of radio content, was on the radio myself (CBC Windsor - The Early Shift with Tom Doucette and Tom Lucier), studied, and wrote a three hour exam.
Most of the studying/editing video content (roughly 8 hours) we're spent in this chair, and now I'M SPENT and going to bed to sleep forever, and ever, and ever...

Last Thursday I saw one of my favorite bands of all time, Toronto band Do Make Say Think, and to my surprise, they ended up playing for 3 and a half hours as three different bands.

Years, which is DMST's guitarist Ohad Benchetrit's side project, opened up the night.

Followed by Charles Spearin's The Happiness Project, which was absolutely unreal. Basically what he did was, he interviewed neighbours and asked them what they thought happiness was, then listened back to the interviews and chose sections that were either interesting in meaning, or in they way the interviewee intonated the sentence. Using those chunks, he created melodies from the voice intonations and built these jazzy compositions on top.

Then DO MAKE SAY THINK took the stage and blew my mind, just like they have all the other times I've seen them.
